#01 - Dismounting & Storage

#02 - Winch runs backwards.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

a) Winch wires reversed.

b) Switch wires reversed.

c) Switch installed incorrectly.

d) Battery wires reversed.

e) Winch cable is looped backards.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

a) Re-check wiring.

b) Re-check wiring.

c) Check switch installation.

d) Re-check wiring.

e) Loop winch cable from underneath.

#03 - Winch runs but with insufficient power or line speed.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

a) Weak battery.

b) Poor battery connection.

c) Winch is damaged.

d) Nylon bushing melted.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

a) Recharge or replace battery. Check charging system.

b) Check battery terminals for corrosion. Clean when required.

c) Replace or repair winch.

d) Replace bushing with brass one #105227.

#04 - Winch will not operate or runs in one direction only.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

a) Vehicle's ignition switch is at OFF position.

b) Broken wires or bad connection.

c) Switch inoperative.

d) Breaker is damaged.

e) Limit switch is damaged.

f) Winch is damaged.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

a) Turn vehicle's ignition switch at ON position.

b) Check for poor connections.

c) Replace switch.

d) Replace breaker.

e) Replace limit switch.

f) Replace or repair winch.

#05 - Snowblower vibrates or is abnormally noisy.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

a) Damaged pulley.

b) Damaged bearing.

c) Damaged fan.

d) Auger damaged.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

a) Replace pulley.

b) Replace bearing.

c) Dismount & repair or replace fan.

d) Replace auger.

#06 - Snowblower does not raise evenly.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

Tire pressure uneven from one side to another.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

Verify and adjust tire pressure: Front tires: 14 to 15 psi. Rear tires: 7 to 8 psi.

#07 - Snowblower digs into ground.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

Ground is not frozen or too soft.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

Adjust skid shoes lower so they may better support the snowblower. If problem persists, change skid shoes for heavy duty skid shoes (option #700243) which cover more surface and prevents snowblower from digging into the ground.

#08 - Chute rotation is difficult.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

Dirt or ice may be underneath chute.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

Dismount chute. 

Clean the base of chute & the rotation ring.

Lubricate & re-install.

#09 - The chute blocks-up easily with snow.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

a) Tractor engine turning too slowly.

b) Advancing too quickly with tractor.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

a) Run engine at full throttle while snowblowing.

b) Allow snowblower to ingest snow at its own speed.

#10 - Belt snapping, shredding or burning.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

a) Lack of tension on belt.

b) Snowblower engaged when blocked.

c) Not original belts.

d) Worn belt. Belt may becausing slack.

e) Not original shear bolts.

f) Imperfections in pulleys.

g) Interference.

h) Belt has flipped on its side.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

a) Adjust the tension of the spring or replace springs if stretched.

b) Make sure the auger & the fan are not frozen or blocked before engaging.

c) Always use original belts.

d) Inspect the belt. Replace if required.

e) Use original shear bolts.

f) Verify if the pulleys are damaged. Verify that pulleys are smooth, without rust spots. Sand down the pulleys or replace them.

g) Make sure that belt does not come into contact with any other part, bolts, guides etc... when engaged.

h) When installing new belt, have snowblower run between 20 to 40 seconds. Turn everything off and verify that belt has not turned on its side. If so, remove belt and re-install in opposite fashion to rectify the bad twist the belt has taken.

#11 - Snowblower stops running.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

One of the two belts is probably damaged of broken.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

Check both belts and replace damaged belt(s).

#12 - Fan stops turning.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

Shear bolt is probably broken.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

Replace shear bolts.

#13 - One section or both sections of the auger stops turning.

POSSIBLE CAUSES :

Shear bolts are probably broken.


CORRECTIVE ACTIONS :

Replace shear bolts.
